Everything I found during testing. Let me know if there are more headlines I'm missing.
There is a problem with Director(s) of Cinematography (edit, I meant Director of Photography). I think it has to do with the "start with" checkmark you've set in the director & directed by categories. Removing the checkmark seems to fix it, but I guess you checked it for a reason?! Perhaps moving the Cinamatography category up above the Directors in the IMDbToDVDProfilerCrewRoleTransformation.xml file could fix it, too?! But I am too lazy (tired) now to mess anymore with it. Wasted most of the night already on it It seems like most of these DoP credits were recently changed to just Cinematographer anyway, here are two examples wich still have some. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0636135/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8847712/ | | | | Last edited: by Corma |

| | Posted: | | | | I am putting way more time into this Cinematographer thing than it is worth After all, the People are pasted into DVDP, just into the wrong category, but with a 'correct' custom role. Just in case anybody is as @nal about it, as me: My advice is to just check if the Cinematographers are in the correct category before pasting into DVDP. If not, change it manually with CCE2's drop down menus. Not a big deal with movies. With Series, if there is a problem, try to removing the 'Start with' checkmarks in the Director Transformation Settings and see if it turns out OK. CCE2 doesn't open the Browser for every episode again, so it way faster than the first run! So far it didn't mess up any Director credits for me, but again, I guess Carsten used the 'start with' option for a reason. Don't use the Re-Apply Setting and Filter Button Button on the Bottom if you're making changes to the IMDB to DVDP Transformation Settings. Use the normal 'Scan Page' Button! I was probably wrong about IMDB having changed many DoP to 'just' Cinematographer. Sometimes CCE2 just defaults to DoP, even if the Cinematographer isn't credited as such, here for example: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0130236/ Edit: Minor but easy thing - adding 'cinematography' -> 'Cinematographer' to the Tranformations roles in 'Cinematography by' prevents custom role 'cinematography'. Edit 2: Casting is effed up, too, at least if the imdb profile creator was lazy. The 'role' then often is just a short for a country like de, us, gb, uk or whatever. (example: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22488654/) It is fixable but a bit of work: Create 'Casting' category, create entry 'de' (for example) -> other > Casting Germany or just 'Casting' | | | | Last edited: by Corma |

| | Posted: | | | | Just so no one misunderstands my use of Cast/Crew Edit 2. I only use this program for my digital only profiles. I never contribute these because you can't. Before I copy and paste into the profile, I get rid of the Custom roles. I always play the movie and update the profile per the credits: not that I have to, but I still follow the rules when auditing for everything except the uncreds…don't know why, but I like them.
Again, these are never contributed. | | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

| | Posted: | | | | Quoting Corma: Quote: but I guess you checked it for a reason?! Yeah I thought I was being clever by trying to catch "Director" and "Directors" in one go. But I stumbled upon "Director of Casting" as suddenly becoming a Director as well. I removed it in the newest release again and treated both "director" and "directors" separately and also added "episode director" Let me know if there are more mismatches, please | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| | Posted: | | | | Well, Happy New Year!
Is there a limit of 10 Entrys being parsed by CCE2 for each category?
Just as an example and because it has other weird things happening, too: The Substance (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17526714/), look at the additional crew:
Christian Agullo - double / stand-in He (and a lot of other people) are parsed twice (once as double, once as stand-in), I guess this has to do with the Slash / ?! It isn't that important, but in this case it might cause other people not being parsed at all:
Next in the list shoud be Anne-Laure Barabé Martignac, but Victoria Brun and Emmanuelle Estourare are put 'in front of' her. The order doesn't really matter for me, but it is weird, isn't it?
Now the real problem: Nobody after Emmanuelle Estour is parsed at all. So, Mathieu Gorges, Louise Greggory, etc, etc, are all ignored by CCE2. I think CCE2 only made 10 Entrys (including the Splits after /) and then stopped for this Section.
Next is 'Thanks' and here for sure only the first 10 Entrys are parsed. After Amelia Granger nobody is.
PS: How can I ignore Categorys like 'Thanks' for example? I wrote Thanks, 'Thanks' and "Thanks" into CCE2's IgnoreCustomInIMDbCategory.txt and IgnoreIMDbCategoryInOther.txt, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. Carsten's Example in the 'Read Me' with Transportation Department also doesn't work for me. | | | | Last edited: by Corma |

| | Posted: | | | | Well the problem has arisen again, when collecting a cast or crew the data is blank. |

| | Posted: | | | | I'm sure DJ Doena is or will be working on it. remember he created this plug in and shares it to us at no charge. I always send a donation to his site every time he has to do work on it. |

| | Posted: | | | | The "TV Show" tab isn't able to scan the page I've browsed to via the "Browser" tab. Running "Cast/Crew Edit 2 Version 2.1.15.1". What's keeping DVD Profiler alive for me isn't Invelos.com. It's Cast/Crew Edit 2. Invelos could close shop tomorrow. I could care less. I'm perfectly content working locally and host my own phpDVDProfiler based website. Having to manually add cast and crew data to new profiles, now that's a deal breaker. I've got better things to do with my life. I don't care whether the given IMDB data is accurate of not. The moment "Cast/Crew Edit 2" is working again I'll be submitting a generous donation. Hopefully an update is in the works. | | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection | | | | Last edited: by Lowpro |

Hopefully an update is in the works. Nothing stays forever, and we need to assume Cast/Crew Edit 2 likely won't either. If you can create a website, you may have enough skills to create your own solution, like I have. I use "web-scraping" to automate the extraction of cast and crew info from the IMDb website. DJ Doena probably uses a similar technique for his plugin. This technique is highly dependent on the structure and placement of the HTML code. So every time IMDB changes its web code, he has to change his plugin. And I have to modify my code too when that happens. It just happened yesterday and it took me about an hour. And from I've seen, DJ Doena also doesn't need much time to do it (when he has time, of course). HTML code is often very structural, and it's often not overly difficult for a capable coder to extract info from it. Btw, I've made by own movie catalog tool ( see my post from another thread), so I'm also not too dependent on DVD Profiler. | | | | Last edited: by movie_madness |

| | Posted: | | | | When CastCrewEdit isn't working you might try TmdbInfo instead. It is, admittedly, not as advanced as CastCrewEdit, and it uses TMDB which is not quite as comprehensive as IMDb, BUT it is stable since it uses an API rather than having to do screen scraping. For most titles it is good enough to provide basic cast and crew data that you can then verify against the actual credits.
As movie_madness implies, sooner or later DJ is likely to give up on updating CastCrewEdit. And who can blame him? He has done a stellar job so far, but IMDb seems to be intent on tripping up anyone who does screen scraping. That's a problem that I don't have with TmdbInfo. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

I stumbled upon your TmdbInfo just yesterday in fact. Used it to add "Cast/Crew" data to a profile I created for "Bosch: Legacy - The Final Season" which I recently authored to Blu-ray. The "Cast" data per episode is looking great. The "Crew" data only includes the "Director" and "Writer" for each episode. Certainly gets the job done for now. The tool worked very well.
